There are no algorithms to worry about here, and there’s no rush to get everything read by a certain deadline. 

If you think RSS is just what you need, you’ve got several excellent apps to choose from as well.

How RSS works

RSS is organized by webmasters and publishers. Whenever they push new content to their sites, they also push it to a dedicated RSS feed. 

As well as the main feed featuring all-new publications, a lot of sites also offer dedicated RSS feeds for particular topics or types of story, like news, features, how-to guides, and reviews, for example. The idea is to give you the freedom to sign up only for the content that you want.

If you open up an RSS feed in your browser it’ll largely look like nonsensical gobbledygook—that’s where RSS apps come in. They translate feeds into something comprehensible, and usually feature a bare-bones version of a story that includes a headline, the main image, and the first paragraph or two of the article. Depending on how the feed is built, sometimes you’ll be able to read entire articles inside your RSS app, while other times you’ll need to go back to the site to finish it.

Sites usually display their RSS feeds quite prominently and make them relatively easy for you to find and subscribe to them. But if you can’t find them,  a quick web search will often do.

 When browsing a site, look for a small orange icon with curved white lines inside—this is the RSS icon and will probably lead you to the feed you’re looking for. If you find your favorite site has not made an RSS feed available, some apps can generate it for you so you don’t miss out on anything.

RSS apps: Choose your fighter Feedly Newsblur

NewsBlur isn’t quite as clean and polished as Feedly but it’s still got plenty to offer—from story tagging and filtering to a comprehensive search tool, and wide support for third-party integrations. You’ll also get lots of page layout choices and freedom to organize your feeds on screen as well. NewsBlur is available on the web, and for Android and iOS, and is free to use with up to 64 site feeds. If you need to go over that number (or just want to support the app), a premium account costs $36 per year.

Inoreader The Old Reader

The Old Reader has been around since 2012, picking up some of the refugees Google  Reader left after that RSS app closed down in 2013. It’s one of the simpler RSS apps, but that’s certainly not a bad thing—The Old Reader presents your feeds in an uncluttered and straightforward way, with features such as feed folders and streamlined sharing tools. The platform is only available through a browser, but the site adapts to mobile screens very well. It’s free to use for up to 100 feeds, with premium plans starting at $3 a month.


Our final recommendation is Reeder, which is gorgeous to look at and brimming with features. The downside is that  it’s only available on Apple devices, and it’ll set you back $5 on mobile devices and $10 on the Mac. For many people it’ll be worth the investment though: It brings with it a choice of layouts, iCloud integration, easy feed sorting, and a focused reading mode, among many other useful options.

However, there are still many users that opt to use RSS feeds for news and to follow their favorite blogs. With so many RSS feed reader apps out there on the Play Store, it’s always a tough task to choose the perfect one. To make this task easier for you, we have shortlisted some of the best RSS Feed Reader apps that are available on Android.

1. Feedly

The whole navigation between different feeds and articles is based on gestures. It might take a few minutes to understand how it works and get the hang of it. There’s even a team version where you can collaborate with coworkers and curate content.

2. Inoreader

If Feedly is for everyone, Inoreader is for everyone including the geeks. Inoreader tries to be a reading service that’s backed by RSS instead of just being an RSS reader. And it’s built that way. You start by choosing sources from categories you like, and Inoreader does the job of populating the feed for you.

Inoreader’s best pull is its app itself. While not gorgeous, it’s utilitarian – clean and feature-rich. Many RSS feeds are truncated, and you can’t get full-text feeds even after using hacks. A nice little feature that I personally like is “History” which keeps track of all the articles that you’ve read.

While NewsTab is a daily news app, under the hood it works as an RSS Feed Reader as well. It’s the best designed RSS reader in my opinion. The UI is neat and crisp. The navigation is flawless, and you’ll easily get the hang of it in no time. You can create your own sections and classify the Feeds accordingly. The search feature makes it even easier for you to add your favorite websites and blogs.

The content reading area provides a “Simplified Article Mode” which allows you to customize the content. You can change the font, color, and their size according to your liking. Apart from that, there’s even an “Offline Mode” to take the content offline. You can take an entire section of feeds for offline reading.

5. gReader

gReader is one of the oldest and most-used RSS Feed Reader apps on Android. The best thing about this app is that it gives you full control over how the app should work. You can completely customize the app and the display of the content. If you like to quickly analyze and read the headlines, then there’s an option to automatically mark an article as “Read” as you scroll which will reduce the clutter of feeds. Want to quickly switch between your read and unread articles? Well, there’s a quick toggle button for that, too.

There are various services available in the app like “Voice reading,” “Translate” and many others. If you feel some services are unnecessary, you can simply turn them off in the settings. There’s also a separate section to change how the content caching on the app should work. You can even backup your preferences in your phone storage if you’ve done lots of customization. Dimensions: Dimensions are the things you want to analyze. For example, event count, active users, transactions, etc. Drag and drop dimensions as rows or columns in the Tab Settings area.

Metrics: Metrics provide the numbers in your analysis. Add metrics to the Values area in Tab Settings.

Visualization: Choose what the report will look like. Exploration options include table, pie chart, line graph, and more.

Values: Drag the metrics that you want to display as columns in the report. Cell type can be displayed as a bar chart, plain text, or heat map.

GA4 Exploration provides more control over the data visualization than was previously available in Universal Analytics.

There are a ton of configuration options within exploration to help you uncover new insights and represent your data in a way that makes sense to your team or client.

One of my favorite features within exploration is anomaly detection because it automatically flags any data points that are outside of what the expected outcome was.

Find out in the GA4 funnel analysis report. Here, you can visualize the steps shoppers take to complete an event and see how well they are succeeding or failing at each step.

Path Analysis

If you liked the behavior flow reports in universal analytics, you will love the analysis hub pathing reports in GA4.

Path analysis visualizes the event stream in what is known as a “tree graph.” An event stream is the series of events users triggered along their path.

The path analysis technique helps marketers uncover looping behavior which may indicate users becoming stuck.

Segment Overlap

Segments can be used in both Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4 properties.

In GA4, segments can be used as user events or sessions. Marketers can even build segments containing multiple conditions and arrange those into a “condition group.”

Think of a segment as a specific group of your site users. For example, a segment may be users from a specific city, those who visited a specific page, or users who took a specific action such as purchasing from a particular product category.

Cohort Analysis

A cohort is a group of users with a common characteristic, such as the same acquisition date, an event, or conversion.

For example, you can create a cohort report to see how long it takes people to convert in relation to a specific marketing tactic.

User Lifetime

The user lifetime report is extremely powerful for search marketers because it lets you create reports that visualize which source is driving users with the highest lifetime revenue — not just revenue for a selected month.

With GA4, you can uncover the marketing campaigns that are acquiring the most valuable users, with the highest purchase probability and lowest churn probability.

A document made with Hanx Writer “can be emailed, printed, and shared and has its own unique statement-making personality. ” The app is free to download, with in-app bundles available for purchase.

There are also on-screen quizzes and grammar exercises to slip into your daily life as you go about your day. However, Babbel comes in on the pricey end of things.
