As everything is shifting online, so are board games. Yup, no denying that playing across a board table will always retain its grace, but for those addicted to their Xbox, here is a list of the top 10 card and board games for Xbox One:1] Chess Ultra
The good old chess has been made even more exciting by bringing Chess Ultra to Xbox One. The chess game is better than playing it on a board if chess, the graphics making it “more real than real.” The best part about Chess Ulta is its grim reaper opponent, which gives a wild and scary feel to the game. The tranquil music adds to the aura during the gameplay.
Chess Ultra supports 4k graphics which is an experience of its own. The game has an algorithm which assigns an ELO score to every player, thus making the multiplayer game even more interesting. Check more about the game on the Microsoft store here.2] Railway Empire
Monopoly would sound boring once you start with this amazing game Railway Empire. The story three in the United States of 1830. Post renaissance era, the industry is booming, and railways are one primary requirement for feeding the revolution. Constructing the railway, an industry in itself is even more of a competition as the better the connectivity, the more powerful the trade and the stronger the country. The game is available on Amazon.3] Fable Fortune
A collectible card game, Fable Fortune is one of the best of options among free card and board games. The gameplay allows users to select among the 6 designated heroes, of which one has to be picked. The chosen character has to side with either good or evil and with a single friend at your side, you need to defeat the much powerful enemy. Fable Fortune is available free of cost at the Microsoft store here.4] Monopoly Plus
The good old Monopoly might hardly find a substitute, but the experience has been enhanced by bringing it to Xbox. Interestingly, the Xbox version allows users to modify the rules of the game and set goals accordingly. The 3D game could be played online with family and friends. It allows gamers to screenshot crucial moments in the game and brag about them later. So it’s the same monopoly experience, with more controls in your hands. Buy Monopoly Plus from Amazon here.5] Pure Chess
Pure Chess is one of the most popular chess games for Xbox, which could be well credited to the simplicity of the application. The game includes a tutorial for players while deciding ELO score for others and connecting them to players of the own class. When playing with friends, you could challenge up to 8 friends at a time and if you lack them, just join any of the 3 major tournaments online. The good old Battleship played on gaming boards united families over a game, thus becoming a tradition. Now as the game progress to Xbox One, they tried to keep it as much original as possible. If you like it, it could be bought from the Microsoft Store here.7] Risk: Urban Assault
The story of Risk: Urban Assault is based in future. Thanks to global warming, the glaciers, and ice caps melted causing sea levels to rise. The resultant rising sea levels have caused a shortage of food and space, thus leading to anarchy and a powerplay for those who want to control the leftover resources. As the continents have become non-distinguishable and governments collapsed, new factions are created, and they are warring against each other. When I first played Hands of Fate, the first thought was, why not make a game with live characters out of it, perhaps like one of those horror games. The current version’s gameplay is all about winning over other characters by playing your cards right, but it has a charm of its own. The gameplay is set in a dark world, where the characters are hopping through dungeons. Check more about the game here.

Beating your friends in multiplayer matches is simple. True glory only comes when you manage to drown them in your overwhelming Gamerscore. If you’re an Xbox gamer and you want to find a few easy games to fly through and add an extra 7,000 points to your total, check out this list.
We’ve found some of the easiest Xbox One games to get 1,000 Gamerscore on. Best of all, it won’t take you hours upon hours to do it. Most of these games can be fully completed (with every achievement unlocked) in just two or three hours. Sure, it may be cheating—but there’s a reason almost everyone that cares about achievements played Avatar: The Burning Earth on the Xbox 360.
Table of Contents
The games on this list may not give you 1,000 Gamerscore for just 5 achievements, but they’re not far off.
Tacoma is a bit of an odd Xbox One game. Despite receiving relatively good reviews, it wasn’t a commercial success. That may be due to the genre, a peculiar mix of explorative gameplay and investigative work. Think of it like an interactive drama.
From the standpoint of someone seeking achievements, Tacoma is an absolute goldmine. The game itself can take a while to play through, but if you use an achievement guide you can unlock every achievement the game has to offer in roughly two hours.
Best of all, Tacoma is part of Xbox Games Passa Ultimate. If you’re a subscriber, it’s a great way to buff your score without shelling out $20 for a copy.
Abzu is an Xbox One game much like Flower on the PS4—a calming, meditative sort of experience as you explore an underwater world teeming with life. There is a loose story, but it isn’t one to write home about. The main appeal of the game is the aesthetics.
Abzu is not a long game and has only 12 achievements, but those 12 add up to 1,000 points. If you use a guide, it won’t take you long to get them all. Most players can accomplish it in less than two hours. Since you can’t die in the game, you can’t lose progress.
Tennis in the Face is about what it sounds like: a game where your objective is to smash a tennis ball into your opponent’s face. There isn’t much more to it than that, but it’s a decent amount of fun for $4.99.
You can unlock all of the achievements in one to two hours. It isn’t difficult by any means, and if you’re looking for a way to give your Gamerscore a quick 1,000 point boost, Tennis in the Face is a solid option.
The genre of “walking simulator” has become quite popular over the years. The Station fits the genre to a T—you navigate through a derelict space station and search for clues to the fate of the crew. It’s a heavily story-based Xbox One game without much gameplay to speak of.
That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though. If you like Gamerscore but you aren’t the best at games, the Station is one of the easiest titles on this list. In fact, you can unlock all 11 achievements and receive the 1,000 Gamerscore in about half an hour.
The story is okay, but nothing groundbreaking—but unlike so many easy games people play for achievements, most people will enjoy the story in The Station.
If the name sounds familiar, it might be because you’ve read the book of the same name—the book this game is based on. Storm Boy is not a challenging game by any means, but almost everyone will enjoy the experience.
The achievements are locked behind different mini-games, but they’re simple. There are only 11 achievements, and most players will be able to complete them all in 15 to 30 minutes. You read that right; if you want an extra 1,000 Gamerscore with almost no effort, pick up Storm Boy.
6180 the moon is a platformer that removes the threat of death by connecting the top and bottom of the screen. Think Asteroids, but with jumping. Of course, you can still lose by falling onto spikes or other threats.
You play as the Moon. It sounds a little strange, but it’s an enjoyable game, especially at the price point of $4. It takes about an hour to complete, including all of the achievements. There are 16 achievements for a total of 1,000 Gamerscore.
Old Man’s Journey is a charming narrative Xbox One game. There isn’t much gameplay to speak of, but the graphics are worth a play-through on their own. The game looks more like a painting by a Dutch Master than a video game. You stroll through it at your own pace, and the story is told by still images—no dialogue is used.
The game takes 1-2 hours to complete. It’s not a long game, and most of the achievements are locked behind interacting with people you come across. There are a few puzzle-related achievements, but they are not difficult to conquer. For a small time investment, you can rack up an extra 1,000 Gamerscore.
These small, easy-to-complete Xbox One games are your secret weapons in your Gamerscore races with friends. With games like this, you can earn an extra 2,000 or 3,000 points in just a few hours. They may not always be the most fun games to play, but the Gamerscore gains may be worth it.
After months of testing, it’s now officially possible to gift games to anyone directly from Xbox Live and your Xbox One console. Just like you have been able to do on Steam for quite some time. If you’d like to gift a game to someone special just in time for Christmas, this guide will show you how to gift a game From your Xbox One Console or the Microsoft Store.
How to Transfer Content From An Old Xbox One to a New Xbox One.
After an unusually short time of testing in the Xbox Insider Program, Microsoft has decided to push Game Gifting out to the general populace and the timing couldn’t be better, with Christmas just around the corner. The idea isn’t entirely new with Steam offering the service for quite some time. However, now Xbox One owners and anyone with an account and access to the Microsoft Store, can purchase games, DLC and subscriptions as gifts, then send them to anyone instantly.
Unfortunately, there are a few restrictions in place, one of which you may find especially annoying. This being that games can only be purchased and redeemed by users in the same country/region. So if you want to buy a game for a friend or family member in another country you’re out of luck. On most occasions though, you can buy pass this restriction if you use a VPN and purchase the game in the same region your receiver is in. For example, if you live in Australia and would like to gift a game to someone in America, you can set your VPN to somewhere in the States, then make the purchase.
Note: You can check out the Xbox One Game Gifting full Terms and Conditions page here. How to Purchase Xbox One Games as Gifts From the Console or Web.
To send/gift an Xbox One game to someone, you will first need to log into your account and access the Microsoft store, either from your computer, phone, tablet or Xbox console. Then pick the game you would like to purchase. Once you are on the main purchase page, all you have to do is choose Buy As Gift and follow the prompts to finish your purchase.
During the purchase process, you will need to make sure you enter the correct email address of the person you wish to send the game too. (there isn’t a double check prompt) If you are making the purchase from your console you will also have the option to choose a person from your Xbox Live friends list. As soon as you finalize the purchase, the giftee will receive an email with a redeemable download code. Whats even cooler about the entire process is that you can choose the date you wish your gift to be sent, so long as it’s within 12 months.
Note: You should also be sure to check the time frame in which the gift may expire if you are setting a gift delivery date nearly the max 12-month limit. It shouldn’t be an issue but companies are often sneaky with services like this.
Another fact worth noting is that if the person you have sent the gift game to already has the game or absolutely despises it, you have 14 days to cancel the purchase, so long as the code hasn’t been redeemed. There is also the option to forward the gift on to someone else, regifting a gift! Again so long as the code hasn’t been redeemed. Basically, anyone who has the Gift email and/or the redemption code can redeem the game. If you are looking for a really good gift idea what will go a long way, check out EA’s Origin Access. As hated as EA and Origin are, it’s still damn good value for money, especially if you haven’t played most of the featured games on the ever-growing list.

While the first Xbox console came equipped with a 233MHz Custom NVIDIA NV2A GPU, the latest Xbox Series X has a custom-designed GPU based on AMD’s latest RDNA 2 architecture. You might be interested in knowing what the PC equivalent of the GPU used on the Xbox One is to build you one gaming PC.
If that is the case, then in this guide, we will share with you all the information that you need to know about what graphics card is in the Xbox one. As GPUs are the heart and soul of a gaming PC, if you wish to build a PC equivalent to the Xbox One, then this guide is very important for you. What are the GPUs used in different versions of Xbox consoles?
To understand it better and also to know about how the GPUs have evolved in Xbox consoles, let us take a look at a comparison table below:
Xbox versionsGPUXBOX233MHz Custom NVIDIA NV2AXBOX 360500MHz custom ATi designXBOX OneAMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) GPUXBOX One XAMD Scorpio graphics processorXBOX One SDurango 2 graphics processorXBOX Series SLockhart GPU based on TSMC’s 7nm process nodeXBOX Series XCustom-designed based on AMD’s latest RDNA 2 architectureWhat graphics card is in the Xbox One?
Since the Xbox gaming console was introduced by Microsoft, it has been using AMD’s GPU for most of its generations. On the Xbox One, there was an AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) GPU.
The latest and the most powerful Xbox gaming console that you can purchase as of now is the Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X console makes use of the custom-designed based on AMD’s latest RDNA 2 architecture, a significant Xbox One graphics card upgrade.
Speaking of the specifications, it can deliver up to 12 Tera Flops or TFLOP of peak performance and is considered to be the most powerful console GPU to be ever created.
To understand, TFLOP is a mathematical measurement of a computer’s performance which is expressed as the ability to perform 12 trillion floating point operations in one second.
On the other hand, the cheaper Xbox Series S features a Lockhart GPU based on TSMC’s 7nm process node. Its PC equivalent is the NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB GPU or the AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT.
For those wondering about the Xbox Series S’s TFLOP numbers, it can output up to 8.013 TFLOPS, making it slightly slower than the NVIDIA GTX 1660. However, it features ray tracing, which is absent on the PC equivalent. What graphics card is comparable to Xbox One X?
Microsoft has replaced the Xbox One X with the Xbox Series X console. To build a PC with Xbox One X equivalent GPU, you must install NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super.
If the Xbox One graphics card is going bad, you should consult our guide on how to detect GPU failure.
Nevertheless, you can find the Xbox One graphics card on PC, minus the Ray Tracing feature, so you need to know what to do.What graphics card is comparable to Xbox Series X?
As mentioned in the table above, the Xbox Series X comes with a Custom-designed based on AMD’s latest RDNA 2 architecture. Since it is the most powerful Xbox console, you will get unprecedented performance from this gaming console.
If you wish to build a PC equivalent to the GPU inside the Xbox Series X, then install the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Super. The NVIDIA GPU is at par with the Xbox Series X performance as it can output 13 TFLOPS.
Speaking of the AMD equivalent, you need to install AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT also has a similar performance output of 12.4 Teraflops. The performance of NVIDIA RTX 3060 may seem similar to Xbox Series X on paper, but in reality, you may feel a lot of differences.
It would be better if you would go for the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT for 1440p gaming, as both the Xbox One X and Radeon RX 6700 XT are based on the same RDNA 2 architecture.
But in the real world, the NVIDIA RTX 3060 and AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT aren’t a match for the Xbox Series X GPU, as they cannot handle modern 4K titles in 60FPS unless the in-game settings are tweaked significantly. The difference is that individual games are optimized for consoles since it is easier compared to differently-spec PCs.
For optimal 4K gaming, we recommend you use the NVIDIA RTX 3080 and 3080 Ti that come with 10GB and 12GB of RAM, with a throughput of 29.77 TFLOPS. In the AMD, you can opt for the Radeon RX 6800 XT, which comes with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM.
So, now that you have a clear mind of what is the PC equivalent of the Xbox Series X GPU, if you are facing an Xbox error update, worry no more as you can check out our guide and resolve the issue.
We also have a guide to help you with the Xbox ventilation error for smooth gameplay. You can have a look at our guide to fixing the Xbox cloud gaming controller not working problem.

Readers of this blog know that students are learning all the time, whether or not they’re in school. Indeed, the vast majority of learning happens outside of school — in homes, playgrounds, workplaces and so on. Play has a fundamental role in this learning, as great minds in education from Plato to Dewey, Piaget and Vygotsky have recognized over the years.
In play, children explore their world, learn to interact with others and use their imaginations to discover ways to understand and predict the connections between actions and their consequences in the world. For young children, these play interactions provide the training wheels of scientific reasoning and language acquisition, which most early childhood educators use in one form or another to encourage their healthy development.
Nearly three decades of scientific research in games and learning have shown evidence that game play can help players develop a systemic understanding of world phenomena, creativity and strategic problem solving skills. In the sequence of solving complex problems, the act of playing engages players cognitively and emotionally, and assesses knowledge where it is highly relevant to those problems’ solution.
In my work with Microsoft Studios, we acknowledge the power of play and its intellectually enriching value with what we call “playful learning,” our approach to designing high quality, intellectually enriching, interactive experiences for children and their families using Kinect for Xbox 360.Developmental Experiences
Kinect embodies “playful learning” in a portfolio of experiences which changes the relationship between children and the tools they learn with: television, books and games. “Kinect Sesame Street TV” takes the renowned educational television show and brings it to life by allowing children to meaningfully interact with their favorite Sesame Street characters.
With Kinect, children are invited to participate in early literacy in a dialogic form. For example, anyone who has ever seen a young child respond to Elmo or Grover inviting them to sing, dance or say their letters and numbers will now see what happens when the TV show is able to hear or see the child’s responses, and scaffold their learning with feedback as a result.
Another aspect in which Kinect alters learning with TV experiences is by allowing players to use more of their senses in the process of learning. For example, “Kinect Nat Geo TV” blends the award-winning Nat Geo WILD TV shows with the intuitive Kinect for Xbox 360. This lets children use a situated learning approach to understanding the nuanced relationship that exists between the survival of grizzly bears in the wild, and the tiny army cutworm moth — a connection one does not often think about when appreciating these magnificent and wonderful creatures — by jumping into the shoes of a naturalist or even a bear in its authentic habitat. In this way, the experience fosters curiosity, bringing the habitats of wild animals into the living room and playfully encouraging players to explore, discover, learn and develop a love for the world and creatures around them. With “Kinect Nat Geo TV,” we seek to inspire children and their families to become stewards of the planet.Jump into Learning
“Project Columbia,” the code name for another experience being designed in conjunction with the Sesame Workshop Curriculum team, is a new environment where active fun and literacy meet. Using Kinect for Xbox 360, “Project Columbia” invites children to use a more embodied learning approach to understanding texts by letting them jump into beloved storybooks and become part of the story themselves. Through full-body interactions, Xbox and Kinect bring the objects and characters in the books to life so that a child’s playful interactions become foundational experiences for understanding the relationship between the words in text and their meanings, as well as their sounds. By letting kids jump into the books they read, “Project Columbia” seeks to develop in kids a lifelong love of books and reading so necessary for their literacy development.
Another new experience is called “Double Fine Happy Action Theater,” a title developed by Double Fine Studios’ world-renowned game designer Tim Shaffer. It is a series of play activities that encourage the youngest players to practice their gross motor skills and stretch their imagination in active ways. Designed to create an inclusive and highly accessible experience for the whole family, in “Happy Action Theater,” children, their parents and even their grandparents can play in virtual ball pits, firework parades and even lava-filled volcanoes all within their living room. The “Happy Action Theater” experiences are digital toys and playscapes that capture the imagination of old and young alike. No rules, no menus, no instructions — just play.
Through these and other new titles, Xbox 360 is continuing to broaden its children’s portfolio with rich experiences that expand our definition of learning into something participatory and experiential.Reflection
Do you use video games in your classroom? How do you see these new experience like those described above changing the way students learn?
