System Error 53 Has Occurred, The Network Path Was Not Found
Some Windows users reported that they are unable to access shared resources on their computers. When trying to do the same, their system prompts that a System Error 53 has occurred and the network path was not found. In this post, we are going to discuss this issue in detail and see how to resolve it.
System error 53 has occurred.
The network path was not found.
Fix System Error 53 has occurred, The network path was not foundIf a System Error 53 has occurred, the first thing you should check is the network path. If the entered path is correct, move to the solutions given below.
Check connectivity using ping
Ensure the file and folder sharing option is enabled
Temporarily disable the security program
Start the computer in safe mode with networking
Restart TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service
Let’s get started.
1] Check connectivity using pingIf there is a problem with accessing the files and folders, then first you need to check the logical connectivity using the ping command. For that, we will use the built-in Command Line interpreter, Command Prompt. So, follow the steps given below to do the same.
Press the Windows + R to open the run dialog box.
Type cmd and press Enter button
Once the Command Prompt is open, type the following command.
After running the command, we have to analyze the packets. Check if packets are lost; if there are no lost packets, your network setup is just fine. In case there are packets lost and your network setup is incorrect, check the network path, and if it is correct, move to the next solution.
2] Ensure the file and folder sharing option is enabledYou cannot access network resources if files and folders are not enabled. If you are encountering the said error, make sure the file & folder sharing option is enabled. If this option is disabled, then you can’t access anything from the remote computer. Let’s enable the file-sharing option so that we can access the resource. Here is how you can do the same.
Here, check the box associated with Share this folder and note the Share name of the drive.
Finally, the target drive will be Shared.
Note: This should be done by the person whose drive you want to access.
3] Temporarily disable your security softwareIf we are getting ping results and confirmed that the file-sharing option is enabled, then we can remove this error by disabling the antivirus and firewall. It has been seen many times that the antivirus installed on your computer can prevent you from accessing resources from a remote device. So, go ahead and disable Windows Firewall, and if you have some other security program, disable it as well.
4] Check in Safe Mode with NetworkingWhen we start the computer in Safe Mode with Networking, it starts with network drivers and a minimal set of services. This means that it allows us to connect the computer to the internet and contact the shared server without any hindrance. Here, we should check if any third-party application is causing this problem. So, follow the steps mentioned below to boot your computer in Safe Mode with networking.
Here, hit the number associated with Safe Mode with networking
Once the computer is started in this mode, check whether your issue will be resolved or not by connecting to the shared network.
5] Restart TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper ServiceHopefully, you can resolve the issue with the help of the solutions mentioned in this post.

What is causing the 404 error?Error 404 is a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) standard response code that tells the users that the client was able to communicate with the server, but the server couldn’t deliver the requested file.
This error is the most common Internet error, and it appears when a user tries to access a broken or expired link. For example, error 404 can appear if you didn’t properly enter the URL or tried to access a certain page that was deleted or moved.
Misconfigured settings or proxies have been found to lead to the error in several cases. Also, if the browsing data is corrupt, you might come across the error 404 in Windows 10.
How do I fix error 404 on my computer? 1. Check your URLYou can fix the error by simply checking your URL. In most cases, the 404 issues are caused by a mistyped URL. While entering the URL, make sure that the path after forward slash is correct.
If the URL is correct, you should know that this error can appear if the desired page is moved or deleted. If that’s the case, your only solution is to wait until this issue is fixed or contact the website administrator.
2. Clear your browsing dataNOTE
Users reported that this issue can be caused by your browser cache, and one of the easiest ways to fix this problem is to clear the cache.
Even if you don’t use Google Chrome you can easily clear your cache by following similar steps in your web browser. Also, this method would work if you come across error 404 on Javajunkies.
3. Try entering the desired URL into Google’s searchExpert tip:
If the problem persists even while using Google’s search results, it’s quite possible that the desired page is moved or deleted by the website administrator.
4. Use Google cacheTo prevent these types of problems, Google often caches web pages so you can view them even if the page is removed or if the website is down.
5. Disable the proxy5.1 Use the LAN settings to disable the proxy
5.2 Use the Settings app to disable the proxy
Open Settings app and go to Network & Internet.
Navigate to the Proxy tab.
Turn off Automatically detect settings and Use a proxy server options.
The proxy can often interfere with your Internet connection, and sometimes it can even cause the error 404 to appear in Windows 10.
6. Change the hosts fileRemoving the wrong lines can cause problems with certain applications. Therefore, it might be a good idea to create a backup of hosts file.
Few users reported that they couldn’t access their favorite websites due to this error. If you can’t access only one or two websites, your host file might be changed by a malicious user or malicious software.
If nothing else works, the problem most likely lies at the website’s end, and it’s best to contact the administrator. Maybe, they would provide you with the new URL for the website or page you are trying to access.
And in case there’s an issue at the backend, they should resolve it once apprised of the same. And this would fix error 404 in Windows 10.

8 Ways To Fix Videos Not Playing In Chrome
Chrome has several built-in plugins and sources to make sure your videos play correctly, and it is compatible with almost all video streaming websites out there. However, if you encounter issues like the videos constantly buffering, appearing blurry, stuttering, or just won’t load, it’s likely that Chrome is not able to play the video.
There could be numerous reasons behind the video playback issue, including hardware problems or issues with your ISP blocking that site. It also includes simple things like poor internet connection and even Chrome-specific issue.
Cookies and cache are all the data collected as you browse through websites. Over time, this accumulated data can turn your browser slow, resulting in videos not playing correctly or showing a black screen. So we recommend deleting it, and here’s how you can do it:
Step 2: Select Settings from the menu options.
Step 4: Now go to Clear browsing data.
Step 5: Select Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files.
Step 6: Select All time in Time range on top.
This should clear up most of the cookies and all cached files. Your browser should feel more responsive, and videos should play fine now. Note that doing so will sign you out of most websites- you’ll have to sign in again.
Having multiple tabs open simultaneously can be very heavy on your RAM and end up taking a lot of resources which can lead to your videos stuttering or not playing properly. You need to close all tabs and correctly restart Chrome to fix this.
This is how you can do it:
Step 2: Copy this chrome://restart and paste it on the Chrome address bar.
Step 3: Press Enter, and Chrome will restart by itself.
Once Chrome reopens, check if the video is playing properly as intended without any lags or stutter.
We recommend playing your videos in Incognito mode or on another browser to check if the video is playing as it should. If it does play, you should try disabling and removing recently installed extensions in Chrome. This is how you can do it:
Step 2: Go to Settings.
Step 4: You will be redirected to the Manage Extensions page.
Turn off the toggle for recently installed or suspicious extensions and check if your videos play without any issues.
Javascript is necessary for sites to display interactive features, including videos. It usually comes enabled by default on Chrome but might have been disabled due to some extension or plugin. You need to enable it for videos to play correctly, as shown below.
Step 2: Select Security and Privacy from the sidebar.
Step 3: Go to Site Settings.
Step 5: Select Sites that can use Javascript.
With Javascript enabled, websites and videos should work as usual. Make sure to remove any extension that disables it.
Hardware acceleration utilizes the GPU of your computer to play HD videos or other graphic-intensive tasks when the CPU is not enough. Leaving Hardware acceleration on old computers can mess up video playback in Chrome. Let us take a look at how you can turn it off.
Step 3: Select Advanced from the Sidebar.
Step 4: Now choose System.
Step 5: Toggle off Hardware Acceleration.
There might be a possibility of any suspicious or harmful software causing the issue. This could have been any file or media that you downloaded and now causing the issue. Thankfully, Chrome has a feature to detect this harmful software and remove them. And here is how you can access it:
Step 2: Open Settings.
Step 3: Select the Advanced option from the sidebar.
Step 7: If found, Chrome will direct you to remove the malicious program.
This should remove any harmful or malicious programs that were present in the browser.
If you are on an old version of Chrome then this is how you can update it:
Step 2: Open Settings.
Step 3: Select About Chrome from the sidebar.
Step 5: After the download completes, Relaunch Chrome.
After updating, your browser should feel smoother to use and your videos should play properly now.
It might be a possibility that an extension or any other plugin might have changed crucial settings which are not easily identifiable and are causing the video playback problems. In this scenario, it is best to Reset Chrome and store it back to the default settings.
Step 4: Now select Reset and Clean Up.
Step 6: Choose Reset Settings.
If you have a slow internet problem and cannot wait for the video to load, you might want to download it and watch it offline instead. This will save you from any buffering issues and you can enjoy the video on your preferred media player.
There are not a lot of decent video downloaders on Chrome that also allow you to download YouTube videos since they updated their policy so the options were slim. But we have found a decent one for you and here is how you download videos with it:
Step 3: Scroll down and you should see download options with different resolutions and sizes.
Step 4: Hold the Alt+Left mouse button on the Download button to download the video.
The video should now start downloading now. Alternatively, drag the Download option to the new tab and press Ctrl+S to download the video.
