When I plug my new iPad Pro 9.7 into any USB port on my desktop PC, it is not recognized. I have other Apple devices, all of which are recognized. I installed the latest iTunes software on my laptop PC and that recognizes my iPad Pro!

Some users might see an 0xE error message when an Apple device isn’t recognized. That error message says this, iTunes could not connect to this iPad because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000003). As a result, users can’t share files between their Apple tablets and Windows 11 PCs.

Do you need also need to fix Windows 11 not recognizing an iPad as well? Maybe one of the potential resolutions below might get that issue sorted on your PC.

How Come Windows 11 isn’t recognizing my Apple iPad?

The iTunes software has an Apple Mobile Device Service that detects Apple devices connected to your PC. Windows 11 won’t recognize your iPad if that service isn’t enabled and running. So, some users might need to enable that service to resolve this issue.

Another possibility is that there’s an issue with the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. If there is, you might see an exclamation mark by that device in Device Manager. Reinstalling that Apple device driver could be the solution in such a scenario.

There might be something up with the Apple software on your Windows 11 PC. In which case, reinstalling iTunes or at least selecting Repair options for other related Apple software could be a potential remedy.

Or it might just be the case that you’re utilizing an outdated iTunes version. An outdated iTunes won’t recognize the latest Apple devices. So, maybe you need to update your software.

How can I fix Windows 11 not recognizing my Apple iPad? 1. Remember to Select the Trust Option

When you connect an Apple device with Windows PC for the first time, you need to select a Trust option. Insert your iPad into a USB port on your PC.

Wait for the Trust option to appear. Then tap that option on your iPad.

3. Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter 4. Try Connecting the iPad with Different USB Ports

Windows 11 might not recognize your iPad because there’s an issue with its USB connection. So, try connecting your tablet with alternative USB ports. Also, don’t connect your iPad with any kind of USB hub. Plug the tablet into a direct USB port on the PC if you were utilizing a USB hub.

Expert tip:

5. Disconnect all other non-essential peripheral devices 7. Check that Apple Mobile Device Service is Enabled and Running 8. Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

Driver updater software, such as Outbyte Driver Updater, can also fix missing or faulty drivers in Windows. Running a Outbyte Driver Updater scan will show you if the Apple Mobile Device USB driver is outdated, missing, or faulty. Then you can select to install the latest driver for that device with the software.

9. Reinstall iTunes

You can uninstall iTunes and delete its leftovers with third-party uninstaller software. For instance, the freeware IObit Uninstaller includes options you can select to erase leftover residual files and registry keys from uninstalled software.

If Windows 11 doesn’t recognize your iPad after applying all the resolutions above, try connecting it to a different Windows PC if possible. Does the same thing happen on an alternative PC? If yes, consider contacting Apple’s help service about the issue from the big A’s Get Support page.

Windows 11 Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working (Fix)

If Windows fails to respond to certain shortcut keys you press, try the solutions below to fix the issue. This guide outlines 8 workarounds on how to fix keyboard shortcuts not working in Windows 11.

How to fix shortcut keys not working in Windows 11

On the webpage, press the keyboard shortcut keys to see if the keys on the on-screen keyboard will light up. If the keys you press do light up as you press them, it means they are working as they should.

If any key you press won’t light up as you press it, it may indicate that the key is broken (hardware issue). Try the problem keyboard shortcut on another keyboard and see if it works. If it does, you may need to replace your broken keyboard.

In some cases, a key may still respond if you press only that particular key, but not with other keys simultaneously such as when you pressing a keyboard shortcut. This kind of problem is called keyboard ghosting. Ghosting is an issue where some keyboard keys don’t work when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously.

When this happens, you can try to enable sticky key in Windows 11 (see below) to allow you to execute keyboard shortcuts without pressing the keys simultaneously. In addition, you may also want to look for an “anti-ghosting” keyboard (which is usually more expensive than conventional keyboards) if the keyboard shortcuts you want to use are very complex.

Also see: How to Remap Keyboard Keys in Windows 11

Enabling the Sticky keys feature in Windows 11 will allow you to press one key at a time and still be able to perform keyboard shortcuts. If you have difficulty trying to press the keyboard shortcuts (e.g. keys being too far apart), or if your keyboard has ghosting issue, the sticky keys feature may come in handy.

In addition, if sticky keys is enabled, it may also cause issue with certain keyboard shortcuts. If it’s enabled as you encounter keyboard shortcuts not working issue, try to disable it and see if the issue can be resolved.

Follow the steps below to enable or disable the Sticky keys feature in Windows 11.

Press Win + i keys to open Settings, or open it from the Start menu.

Next, select Accessibility from the left pane, and select Keyboard from the right.

Suggested Read: How to Disable a Key on Keyboard in Windows 11

Check if there is any software that is conflicting with the keyboard shortcuts you use. For example, if you are in a game while performing the keyboard shortcut that doesn’t work, make sure there is no similar keyboard shortcut in the game that conflicts with the Windows 11 keyboard shortcut.

This also often happens in other complex software or apps which have their own set of keyboard shortcuts that may conflict with Windows keyboard shortcuts.

Before trying the more complex solutions, you should try to run the keyboard troubleshooter first to see if Windows can troubleshoot and resolve the issue automatically. Follow the steps below to run the keyboard troubleshooter on Windows 11.

Press Win + i keys to open Settings.

Select System from the left pane, and then select Troubleshoot on the right.

Next, select Other troubleshooters.

Some high-end gaming keyboards has a feature called Gaming Mode that will disable keyboard shortcuts such as Alt + Tab, Windows + any other key, etc. to prevent Windows from interrupting the gameplay.

If you have a gaming keyboard that has the gaming mode feature, try to turn it off and see if the keyboard shortcuts that didn’t work, works now. There is usually a switch or key (usually with Fn) on the keyboard itself to turn the gaming mode on or off.

There is a service called Human Interface Device Service that handles the keyboard shortcuts functionality in Windows 11. Check if the service is running in the background as it should be, or try to restart the service to see if it can resolves the keyboard shortcuts not working issue.

Follow the steps below to start or restart the Human Interface Device Service in Windows 11.

Search for “Services” via the Start menu and open it.

There is also a group policy that is responsible for keyboard shortcut keys on Windows 11. If this policy is accidentally “enabled”, keyboard shortcuts and all Windows hotkeys will not work. Follow the steps below to access the mentioned group policy.

Search for “ chúng tôi ” or “Edit group policy” to open the Group Policy Editor in Windows 11.

In the Local Group Policy Editor window, navigate to the following path via the left pane.

Select Disabled to disable the setting.

If you select “Disabled” or “Not Configured” for this setting, the Windows Key keyboard shortcuts will be available.

If you select “Enabled“, the Windows Key keyboard shortcuts will be unavailable.

You don’t usually need to manually update or install your keyboard’s driver unless if you have a rather high-end gaming keyboard. If you do have a gaming keyboard, check the keyboard manufacturer’s website to see if there is any new update to its driver.

1] Switch on Mouse Keys while Num Lock is enabled

To fix the issue, enable Mouse Keys when NUM LOCK is ON. To do that, press the left ALT + left SHIFT + NUM LOCK key combination on your keyboard. After that,  press the Yes button on the prompted dialog. You can also do the same using your Windows Settings. Here are the steps to do that:

Now, to change your Registry, follow the below steps:

First, open your Registry Editor app and navigate to the below location: HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelInput Method

Once your computer is rebooted, you can try using ALT codes and see if the problem is resolved.

If you are able to use ALT codes in a clean boot state, you can start enabling services one by one, and check which one is causing the issue at hand. Once you find that out, uninstall the problematic app from your computer.

There are certain problems and errors that will exist for as long as there will be Windows.

I know it happened to me, as well, and only after trying out all the possible solutions did I manage to find a fix for this problem.

It doesn’t matter whether you have a corded mouse or keyboard, with or without USB or a wireless Bluetooth one. This error keeps appearing and the solutions to fix it aren’t too hard but will take a little time.

This problem is not the only one that can give you a hard time while using your mouse or keyboard. In order to fix your specific problem, we strongly recommend you find the exact cause.

Trying fixes that do not work is annoying, isn’t it? Then be careful when searching for the origin of the problem. The first thing you have to do is to figure out the symptoms.

How to fix keyboard or mouse not detected in Windows 10, 8.1?

Update your drivers automatically

One easier way to update your drivers without the need to manually check each device in the device manager is doing it automatically.

If you are tired of constantly having to check for available drivers for all of your software, know that you can actually use a third-party software that will do it for you.

Often, your computer system might not be able to update the generic drivers for your hardware and peripherals correctly. There are vital differences between a generic driver and a manufacturer’s driver. Finding the correct driver versions for every hardware component can become tiresome.

That’s why a dependable updater can help you find and update your drivers automatically. We strongly suggest the Outbyte Driver Updater, and here’s how to do it:

Download and install the Outbyte Driver Updater app.

Launch the software and wait for the app to detect all incompatible drivers.

Now, it will show you a list of all outdated drivers to select the ones to Update or Ignore.

Restart your PC to ensure the applied changes.

2. Check your components

The first thing that you need to do when such a thing happens is to make sure that hardware, physical problems are out of the question.

What I mean by this is that you need to make sure whether the problem isn’t caused by dust, moisture, or a faulty USB drive.

Expert tip:

What I experienced on my own was the fact that the battery wasn’t apparently entirely dead, so my mouse cursor just stopped from time to time. After having replaced the battery, the issue has been solved.

Also, it doesn’t really matter who is the maker of your mouse, keyboard and of the laptop, computer or tablet running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.

Most of the time the issues are similar, if not, the same. Many have been reporting such issues especially after they have either upgraded their Windows.

3. Remove all USB connected devices

If you have a USB enabled mouse or keyboard, try removing all USB connected devices, restart your device and then connect only that device which you think has troubles.

Also, while you are in the above-mentioned Device Manager category, you could try and search for driver updates specifically for USB (Universal Serial Bus controllers).

Moreover, if you’re using a Bluetooth device, also, check out whether you have the latest Bluetooth drivers updated.

4. Boot your device in Safe Mode

There might be a software or hardware conflict with your mouse and keyboard, so try and reboot in Safe Mode and from the same Device Manage, simply delete the devices.

Then, when you will restart, Windows will recognize them and will start to search for drivers automatically, if needs be.

This has been the solution that worked for me. Also, just in case, make sure that your BIOS is also updated. Of course, in case you haven’t tried this out already, the built-in Troubleshooting tool could also help.
