How To Check Who Viewed Your Instagram Highlights (2023)

During my trips, I love capturing every moment on my Instagram Stories and saving them as Highlights. But, like many of you, I frequently get the urge to check who has viewed them. It can be frustrating that Instagram doesn’t show the viewer list for IG Highlights after 48 hours of publishing. If you’ve experienced this same issue, don’t worry!

In this article, I’ll share some workarounds on how to check who viewed your Instagram Highlights on your iPhone.

What are Instagram Highlights?

Instagram Highlights allow you to pin select Stories chosen by you on your profile, so they remain visible even after the original Story disappears. These Highlights appear as small circular icons above the feed section on your profile. You can customize your Highlights by adding new Stories, changing the cover image, and rearranging the order to create a visually appealing profile.

How to see who viewed Instagram Highlights on iPhone

Open the Instagram app.

Tap your profile photo at the bottom.

Tap Activity.

Interestingly, if any profile has reacted to your Highlight, you will see a small heart icon on their profile photo.

Also, you can send messages to viewers by tapping the messenger icon next to their profiles. If you want to view their profile or hide your story, tap the three-dot icon next to their name and select Block or Hide Your Story.

Here the only problem is you can’t see the viewers’ count after 48 hours. It’s really frustrating for creators like me as we can’t check the exposure of the Story content. So, I have tried and tested a few methods and found a way to check who viewed my Instagram Highlights after 48 hours.

Check who viewed your Instagram Highlights after 48 hours

Instagram automatically removes the list of viewers when your Instagram highlight has exceeded the time limit of 48 hours from the moment it was uploaded.

However, there’s another way to get the analytics of your Instagram Highlights. You need to turn your profile into a professional account.

Open Instagram → go to your profile.

Tap the hamburger icon → Tap Settings and privacy.

Scroll down to Account type and tools.

Tap Continue.

Choose your account category and tap Done.

Wait until Instagram sets up your profile.

Follow the on-screen prompts.

Now open any Highlight, and you will see Story Insights.

Though the insights don’t provide viewer lists and view counts, you can check the reach means the unique number of accounts who have seen the story at least once. Also, the insights show who has liked your story and engagements. If you boost the story, you can get more in-depth analytics.

Note: Besides this method, the Instagram management tools like Buffer, Sprout Social, etc., help to view your Instagram highlights views and activities.

How to add a new IG Highlight?

You can feature your Stories on your profile and make them a Highlight. So, it can be viewed after 24 hours. Whenever anyone visits your Instagram profile area, they may watch your prior stories. Also, for better understanding, you can add names to each Highlight, use aesthetic covers, and add multiple stories under one Highlight.

Open your Instagram Story → Tap Highlight.

Select New.

Control who can see your Instagram highlights

Whether you have private, public, or professional, you can control the privacy of your IG Story Highlights. Note that only followers can see your highlights if you have a private account.

After you’ve added a story, choose the hamburger menu in the top right → Tap Settings and privacy.

Tap Hide story and live from.

To unhide your story from someone, tap their username to de-select them

How to remove an Instagram story from Highlights?

If you no longer want any highlights on your profile, you may delete that. The Story will be saved to your archive and not be deleted permanently.

Open the highlight → Tap More (three-dot icon).

Select Remove from highlight.

How To Go On To Quiet Mode On Instagram

Meta has recently released a few good features for Instagram. One of them, called ‘Quiet Mode’, is a time-management and focus tool that lets users, especially teens, use the app more responsibly. With it, Instagram users can silence their push notifications whenever they are taking a break from the app.

Here is everything you need to know about the new Quiet Mode feature, what it is, what it does, and how to turn it on or off with ease.

What is Quiet Mode on Instagram

Instagram will also prompt teenagers to enable this new feature if they spend too much time on Instagram, especially at night. Exactly how many hours one needs to spend on Instagram at night for this prompt to appear is unclear as of now.

All this comes at a time when criticism about Instagram’s impact on the mental health of teenagers is on the rise. With such changes, Instagram is doing all that it can to move away from its association with teenage addiction and social media anxiety.

How to put on Quiet Mode on Instagram

Here’s how to turn on Quiet Mode on Instagram.

Open the Instagram app on your phone. Next, tap on your profile icon.

Then tap on the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) at the top right corner.

Select Settings.

Select Notifications.

You should see Quiet mode here. Tap on it to access its options.

Toggle on the switch next to Quiet Mode.

Once enabled, you will get a confirmation about the same.

You can also change the hours during which Quiet Mode turns on automatically from the same Quiet mode settings page or by tapping on Edit once it is turned on.

Then tap under “Turn on automatically” to select your hours.

Choose your quiet mode hours. Quiet mode can remain turned on for 12 hours at a time.

The ‘Quiet Mode’ feature is currently available in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and will be rolled out to more countries soon.

How to turn off Quiet Mode on Instagram

Turning off Quiet Mode is as simple as enabling it on Instagram. To do so, go to the same Notification settings page from your profile icon and select Quiet Mode.

Then simply toggle off Quiet Mode. You can use the guide above for turning off to reach the page where you can turn its toggle off.

What happens when you turn on Quite Mode on Instagram

Quiet Mode is quite an intelligent feature. When enabled, apart from silencing your Instagram notifications, it will automatically set your status to ‘In quiet mode‘.

On top of that, it will also reply to those who are messaging you, telling them that the user wasn’t notified about the message “because they’re in quiet mode”.

This screen lets you also turn on Quiet Mode. If you’re at the receiving end of this message, you will see the option to “Turn on quiet mode” next to it (see image above). Simply tap on it to turn it on.

After a session, once ‘Quiet Mode’ is turned off, Instagram will show a summary of missed notifications for you to catch up on.

FAQs

In this section, we shed some light on commonly asked questions about Instagram’s quiet mode feature and look to answer the same.

How does quiet mode work?

How to tell if someone has turned on Quiet Mode on Instagram?

The simplest way to tell if someone has turned on Quiet Mode on Instagram is to check their status (from the messaging screen). Alternatively, try sending them a message. If quiet mode is turned on, Instagram will let you know the same.

How is ‘Quiet mode’ different from ‘Pause notifications’?

Quiet Mode is not unlike the ‘Pause notifications’ option that it sits under on the Settings page. But unlike its older cousin, Quiet Mode can do more than just pause notifications. It can be set to turn on automatically during certain hours of the day which is a great feature to have. Additionally, once enabled, it will set your status to “In Quiet Mode” and also let users messaging you know that you’re in quiet mode and their messages won’t notify you.

The recent Instagram feature updates also let you manage your recommendations in the Explore section. With these new tools, Instagram is pushing the envelope for more user control over what they see and how much they interact with the app. At a time when concerns over social media addiction and its mental health impacts are on the rise, these are important steps in the right direction for Instagram and Meta.

How To Collaborate On Projects In Messages On Iphone And Mac

When you need to work on a project with others, you may need to use a specific tool. But did you know that you can collaborate right in the Messages app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac? You can share files, work on them together, see activity updates, and more. This guide shows you how to collaborate on all of these platforms in the Messages app.

How To Set Up Messages Backup And Restore On Android

All of us make mistakes and there are instances when we might have deleted a text or two before realizing that it was actually an important one. That could happen when you were deleting messages in bulk, reset your phone or unfortunately lost your phone.

Whatever your case may be, you might be looking for a solution to recover text messages on your Android phone. This article will help you with everything you need to know about retrieving deleted text messages and prevent such a scenario in the first place.

How to retrieve deleted text messages

First things first, there’s no reliable way to recover lost texts on Android. If you have stumbled upon this article because you lost your text messages, they’re gone now, for good.

While searching for the same on Google might redirect you to third-party recovery software like FonePaw, Mobikin, EaseUS MobiSaver, and more, there are limitations to all of them and none of them can assuredly retrieve text messages.

Why should you not use recovery software for retrieving texts

Root Access: Almost all the tools mentioned above need access to your phone’s root folder. This folder is what stores a database of your texts and Android, by default, hides the folder since it belongs to the system. This permission can only be enabled by rooting your device which may be a cumbersome process if you’re not someone who experiments on their phone.

Expensive: Even if you’re beyond the first limitation, you might not want to go through this process which is actually paying to retrieve your lost texts. While some of the software might assure your data recovery for free, recovering deleted texts will be part of the software’s Pro pack. These pro versions are quite expensive coming at a licensing price of in and around $50 which is steep for recovering a single text.

Privacy scare: Since these software tools are granted access to your root folder, they might be able to modify any element of the Android system. This added to the fact that modern Android phones connect to PC using the Media Transfer Protocol, the tools could as well steal your personal data and use it against you.

What can you do to save your text messages

You might be out of luck if you’re trying to recover text messages. But one good news is the fact that you can very easily take backups of your texts. You can set your messages to automatically back up to cloud, so you can restore it at a later point in time. This also helps you when you want to retrieve messages from an old device to a new phone.
