Suggested April 2024 How To See Your Friends Activity On Spotify

Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming apps on the planet. With 182 million users as of 2023, there are a lot of opportunities to follow most of your friends’ activities on Spotify.

You can see all music that your friends are listening to on the Spotify desktop app, as well as the Spotify mobile app. In this article, you’ll learn how to disable or enable the Friends Activity pane on the right side, and how to find and add new friends to follow. We’ll also cover how to hide your own listening activity if you don’t want friends to see what you’re listening to on Spotify.

How to See or Disable Friends Activity on Spotify

The easiest way to control whether or not you can see your friends’ activity on Spotify is from the desktop app. Spotify is available on desktop platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook.

Normally, the Friend activity sidebar in the app is enabled by default when you first open Spotify.

This is where you can see what all of the friends you follow on Spotify listen to.

If you have no interest in seeing the Friends Activity pane, you can disable it. To do this, select the three dots at the upper left of the Spotify desktop app, select View from the menu, and select Friend Activity to disable it. You’ll see the checkmark disappear once this feature is disabled.

Once you’ve disabled Friend Activity, you’ll see the right pane with your friends’ current Spotify activity disappear from the main page.

There is no Friends Activity pane on the Spotify mobile app, so you don’t have to worry about disabling this feature there.

However, the mobile app does provide your own Spotify activity to the Friends Activity feed for people who are following you on Spotify. You’ll learn how to disable this and protect your privacy below. You’ll also discover how to view your Friends’ Spotify activities using alternative Spotify apps.

How to Hide Your Listening Activity on Spotify

If you don’t want to share your own listening activity with friends on Spotify, there are several ways to disable that. You can do this from either the desktop app or the mobile app.

On the Spotify desktop app, select your profile image and select Settings from the dropdown menu. On the Settings page, scroll down to the Social section. Disable the toggle to the right of Share my listening activity on Spotify. This will disable the ability for your friends to see what you’re listening to on Spotify.

If you don’t want to permanently disable this feature, but instead disable it for just one of your listening sessions, you can do that too.

To do this, select the three dots at the upper left of the main window, select File, and select Private Session.

This launches a new listening session on Spotify. Everything you listen to on Spotify will be private. Any friends that are following you on Spotify won’t see any of your activity while this mode is active.

You’ll see that this mode is active by the blue lock icon that appears at the top of the windows app.

Repeat the process above and select Private Session again to disable this mode and make all of your Spotify activity visible to your friends again.

If you want to know which friends are following you, select your Profile icon and select Profile from the dropdown menu. Scroll down to the Followers section to see the list of friends who are following you on Spotify.

Hide Your Spotify Activity on the Spotify Mobile App

You can use the Spotify mobile app on your Android or iPhone to make your Spotify activity private as well.

To do this, tap the gear icon at the top-right corner of the main app screen. This will take you to the Settings window.

Scroll down to the Social section and enable the toggle to the right of the Private session options.

This will switch your Spotify app into a private listening mode where anything you listen to won’t be shared with all of the friends who are following you on Spotify. You won’t see any indication in the app that the private listening mode is active, so don’t forget to disable it when you’re done!

Why might someone need to temporarily enable a private session?

Listen to podcast topics that you don’t want friends or family to know you’re interested in.

Maybe your friends would be surprised or judgemental that you like a certain genre of music.

You don’t want the day’s listening patterns to influence the music that Spotify suggests to you later.

Whatever your reason for doing it, both the desktop and mobile versions of the Spotify app let you enable a private session.

How to See More Friends’ Activity on Spotify

If you want to expand the circle of friends you follow on Spotify, you can do this on the desktop Spotify app. With your Friend Activity panel enabled, select the small profile icon with a plus sign on it at the upper right corner of the window.

This will open a new pane that lists all of the friends you have on Facebook who also have a Spotify account. You can search for one of your friends using the filter field.

To follow that Facebook friend, just select the small profile image to the right of their name. You’ll then see that friend (and their listening activity) in the Friend Activity pane.

Don’t have a Facebook account or is a friend you want to follow not on Facebook? That’s okay, you can still follow your friends on Spotify without Facebook. The only requirement is that your friend must use Spotify.

All you have to do is ask that friend what their Spotify user name is. Repeat the process above to open the search field and type spotify:user:username in the search box, replacing “username” with your friend’s user name. Make sure it’s all in lower-case.

Note: If you’re viewing a public playlist created by a friend, you can find their username at the top of the main playlist page.

How to See Your Friends’ Spotify Activity on Mobile

You may have noticed that there’s no friend activity feature on the Android or iOS Spotify mobile app. That doesn’t mean that you can’t see their activity on your smartphone, but you will need to install a different app.

Open Google Play or the Apple Store and search for “spotify friends activity”. You’ll see a number of apps that can see what your friends are playing on Spotify.

Install one of these (choose one with the best review rating) and provide it with permissions to access your Spotify account when prompted.

You may also need to give it access to your Facebook account – so be careful only to install highly-rated apps with a large user base.

Enjoying Spotify with Friends Is Fun

Listening to music on Spotify is enjoyable, but there’s something special about adding the social aspect to music streaming. You can discover new music or bands your friends may listen to that you’ve never heard of. And if you know you have the same musical tastes as specific friends, those friends can be a great source of inspiration for what you should listen to next.

How To Compare Xbox Achievements With Your Friends

Xbox has a feature where gamers can compare their achievements with their friends and families. The question is, how can we get this done in the easiest way possible? Well, we are going to discuss everything you need to know.

Many gamers on Xbox enjoy generating achievements because it shows how far they’ve progressed in a game. Not only that but improving your gamer score numbers is like a tool that proves your prowess as a gamer. Folks with high gamer score is not viewed as in the same league as those with low numbers, and that is how it has always been, and will always be.

How to compare Xbox achievements with friends

Let us now discuss how to compare achievements via the relevant steps below:

How to compare achievements on Xbox

How to compare achievements via the Xbox mobile app

Stats available for you to compare

1] How to compare achievements on Xbox

Boot into your Xbox by pressing the Xbox button on the console or on the controller.

Once up, please press the Xbox button on the controller to open the Guide.

Navigate to Profile & System by pressing the Right Bumper trigger.

Enter the My Profile menu right away.

The statistics shown can give you an idea if your friend is ahead in certain games. If that is the case, then you can decide whether or not you should attempt to take the number one spot.

2] How to compare achievements via the Xbox mobile app

It is also possible to compare achievements and other important statistics via the Xbox app for Android and iOS.

How To See Who Is Stalking Your Facebook Profile

They say curiosity killed the cat, but sometimes you want to find out who’s been looking at your Facebook profile, photos, posts, and personal info. Want to know how to see who is stalking your Facebook profile? We’ll show you how to see who might have looked at your profile the most out of your Facebook friends.

How to See Who Is Stalking Your Facebook Profile on the Web

Although Facebook does allow you to see all your likes, you can’t actually see who’s been looking at your profile, or what they’ve been looking at. You might come across apps or sites claiming that they can show you this information, but there’s no way for them to do this. However, there are some steps you can take to find out who might be looking at your profile the most.

Table of Contents

See Who Interacts With Your Posts the Most

Find Your Top Viewers Using Your Profile’s Source Code

You can supposedly use your profile’s source code to check out who is stalking your Facebook profile, though take this with a pinch of salt as it hasn’t been confirmed these are the people actually visiting your profile.

Sign into Facebook in your browser.

Press

Control + F

on your PC (or

Command + F

on your Mac) to open the search bar.

Type

buddy_id

into the search bar.

In the results, you should see a list of user IDs prefaced by

buddy_id

.

The names on this list may well be those who look at your profile the most, but don’t take this too seriously — it’s also possible that these are simply the people you’ve interacted most with on Facebook recently.

How to See Who Is Stalking Your Facebook Profile with Tracking Links

You could consider using tracking links to log your friends’ IP addresses. This won’t work if all your friends live in your hometown as you won’t get people’s names, just their IP addresses and general locations.

Copy the site URL.

You’ll see a popup saying “

This action requires your consent.

” Select “

I agree and create a URL.

Copy or take a note of the

Access Link

, which will enable you to track your results.

Be patient and give it some time before visiting the Access Link.

By doing this a few times, you should get an idea of where the people viewing your posts most often are located, which may help you figure out which friends are stalking your Facebook profile.

Note: This won’t work if your friends are using a proxy or VPN.

What About Suggested Friends or Top Friends?

You might think that you can figure out how to see who is stalking your Facebook profile by looking at your list of top friends or suggested friends. Unfortunately, the People You May Know list isn’t based on people who have viewed your profile. Instead, it’s based on mutual friends in common, your networks, activity, any groups you’re a member of, and so on.

How to See Who Is Stalking Your Facebook Profile on the App (iOS/Android)

Things aren’t any different over on the Facebook app for iOS and Android devices either. There still isn’t a way to definitively see who’s stalking your Facebook profile, though this may be a feature that Facebook introduces one day in the future. One thing you can do on Facebook, though, is check if someone blocked you. Or you could always consider switching to one of the best social media alternatives, some of which will allow you to see who’s looking at your profile.

As you can see, if you’re wondering how to see who is stalking your Facebook profile, there’s no one solid answer or solution. Make sure you avoid any third-party apps or sites that promise they can provide you with this information — they could be fishing for your personal information or log in details, and they won’t actually be able to show you who’s stalking you on Facebook.

The Geekiest Tunes On Spotify

After a long wait, online music streaming service Spotify has finally opened its digital doors to U.S. music fans. Hooray! As a way to celebrate the launch here in the U.S., GeekTech bloggers set to work on creating a playlist full of geeky songs. Here’s what we came up with.

Songs For Geeks

Our GeekTech playlist includes a growing selection of any song that has a geeky vibe, be it a reference to the periodical table, expressing love for your computer, what happens when you get a blue screen of death, or even just singing out about surfing the internet. At time of writing the ‘Songs For Geeks‘ playlist has around 30 tracks, here is a selection of just a few of them:

I Love My Computer – Bad Religion

I Love My Computer is the ninth track on Bad Religion’s 2000 album The New America and is GeekTech blogger Alessondra Springmann’s geeky song of choice.

This fun three-minute-long song details the love between a user and their computer, explaining how a computer is always there for you, serving up predictable errors within a safe domain. It’s fairly geeky, we’d say.

You can listen to I Love My Computer on Spotify, or alternatively you can grab it on iTunes.

Rocket Man – Elton John

Elton John’s 1972 hit Rocket Man, featured on the album Honky Chateau, was the geeky track selected by former aerospace engineering student and GeekTech’s resident spaceflight junkie James Mulroy.

You can listen to Rocket Man on Spotify, and a YouTube video of a live performance is available as well.

The Geeks Get The Girls – American Hi-Fi

Geeks never get the girls, right? Not true, says American Hi-Fi. The 2004 track from the Hearts On Parade album was a suggestion from GeekTech Editor Nick Mediati.

The song, which was used during the first two seasons of TV show Beauty and the Geek, is about one boy who is labelled a geek, a freak and a loser–but who still manages to get the girl.

You can listen to The Geeks Get The Girls on Spotify, or watch the video on YouTube.

Chemical Calisthenics – Blackalicious

Taken from Blackalicious’ second full-length album Blazing Arrow, Chemical Calisthenics was one of the geeky tracks suggested for the playlist by PCWorld associate editor Patrick Miller.

Patrick’s selection is the twelth track on the hip-hop album and is over three minutes of elemental rapping–literally. The song is all about the periodic table and features such lines as, “the theory is that all matter is composed of at least three fundamental particles”, and “by now you’ve guessed electrons are probably negatively charged”. Geeky indeed.

You can listen–and learn–to Chemical Calisthenics on Spotiy, or you can purchase it from iTunes.

Technologic – Daft Punk

Daft Punk’s Technolgic is taken from the French duo’s 2005 album Human After All. This track was suggested for the geeky playlist by yours truly, and you can see why by looking at its name alone.

The four minute song relays many modern-day technology activities, including playing a file, burning files, dragging and dropping, and zipping and unzipping. The song went on to feature in an iPod TV ad, and later it appeared in Tap Tap Revenge for the iPhone and console game DJ Hero.

Spotify users can listen to the Daft Punk track here, for those without here’s the YouTube link.

Other Geek Selections…

The above is just a selection of what’s included in our GeekTech ‘Songs For Geeks‘ playlist. Other tracks on offer include Fat Boy Slim’s Slash Dot Dash, Blue Screen Of Death by Tom Smith, Code Monkey from Jonathan Coulton, iGeneration by MC Lars and even the Cantina Band music from Star Wars.

If you are yet to get a Spotify account, why not find out how you can get in on the action?

10 Best Roblox Piggy Characters To Scare Your Friends

If you are active in the Roblox community, coming across Piggy is almost inevitable. It’s one of the scariest Roblox games of all time and comes with some interesting mechanics, a unique plot, and iconic characters. Some players even create their Roblox characters based on the ones in Piggy. And that’s exactly what we are here to familiarize you with today. We have compiled a list of the 10 best Roblox Piggy characters you can get before jumping into your next game. Some of them are scary while others are tactical. You have to test them all to find the right one for you. With that said, let’s not waste time and check out the top Piggy character skins in Roblox.

Best Roblox Piggy Characters in 2023

Our list only covers the obtainable Piggy characters. We are not including the NPCs or exclusive skins that you can’t equip. Moreover, our list isn’t ranked in any way. You can explore each Piggy character using the table below at your convenience.

1. Piggy

There is no way this list can begin without talking about the original Piggy skin. As you might guess from its appearance, it’s based on the popular character Peppa Pig. But unlike the friendly face that children love, this Peppa has a broken eye and blood-stained clothes. It holds a killer baseball bat instead of dolls and can bring nightmares to your world of dreams. If you are a first-timer in the world of Piggy, this original skin is the best way to experience the game in its prime.

Obtaining: Available by default.

2. ???

Obtaining: Complete the hidden ending of Piggy: Book 2.

3. Laura

From a distance, Laura appears to be a baby bear holding her teddy bear and minding her business. But as you get closer, her creepy features start to take shape. Laura and her teddy have blocked out eyes that see into nothingness. Then, to top it off, one of Laura’s eyes appears to be melting which is sure to fuel a bunch of nightmares. As for her looks, Laura has worn-out clothes and a creepy black bow adding to her scary vibes.

Obtaining: Collect all parts of the teddy bear on the Camp map and then lead the soldier from the blue cabin to the newly spawned Teddy Bear.

4. Mr. P

Giving rest to the scary elements, we have Mr.P with his weird design that isn’t particularly alarming but definitely eerie. We get a pink blob wearing a hat and a suit. He has a robotic eye and a robotic arm giving a nod to his collage-like design. Finally, one arm of Mr.P is an extension of the pink body while the other one is a robotic shotgun. Other players might not get scared immediately on encountering you as Mr.P, but they are bound to lose their senses once you start shooting.

5. Teacher

During our early school years, we are bound to come across at least one scary teacher. But believe me when I say that you were lucky to encounter them because the Teacher from Piggy is much scarier. Her weapon is a long ruler which creepily matches the color of her eyes. As for the appearance, the Teacher is a browned-out version of the original Piggy but with tainted clothes and huge horns. Not to forget, her iconic glasses are even hard to miss.

Obtaining: Available for 175 Piggy Tokens

6. Zompiggy

Almost all horror games have a version of zombies in them and Piggy is no exception. What we get here is a decaying Piggy character whose skull is exposed on one side. This Zompiggy wears a worn-out version of the original Piggy skin that fits well with the rest of the rotten theme. As for the weapon, she uses someone’s skeleton arm to hunt other players.

Obtaining: Available for 325 Piggy Tokens

7. Kraxicorde

Obtaining: Available for 700 Piggy Tokens

8. Sentinel

If just having a static gothic element doesn’t feel scary enough to you then the Sentinel skin might do the job. It is one of the very rare animated skins in Piggy that glows in rainbow colors. The costume in itself is quite spooky and presents a glowing pig that is wearing a torn-up black cloth. You can see the glowing ribs of Sentinel along with its facial features and arms.

Obtaining: Collect all pages of Piggy: Book 1.

9. Torcher

Most of the best Roblox Piggy characters are scary because of their looks but the Torcher is scary because of his weapon. He has a simple firefighter-like outfit but instead of putting out the fire, he uses a flamethrower to ignite it. This is one of the best Roblox characters and if it looks familiar it’s because Torcher is based on the Pyro from Team Fortress 2.

10. Twins

If you are a fan of horror movies, you might remember the twins from The Shining. Piggy takes inspiration from those and applies it to the Zuzu and Zaza Zebra from Peppa Pig. The result is a pair of menacing killers that carry fencing foils as their weapons. This is the only character skin in the game that has two characters combined into one making it quite rare.

Obtaining: Available for 650 Piggy Tokens
