Moderating over 500,000 images per day, the service provides an easy-to-use API so that images can be moderated according to WebPurify’s standard criteria or by custom criteria defined by webmasters.

By default, images are flagged if they contain “adult content,” such as nudity (integral or partial), portrayal of hate or hate crimes, violence, offensive gestures or language, and so on. Images are usually moderated in less than 5 minutes, and the moderation is made by a specialized team active twenty-four/seven all year round.

Video Moderation

WebPurify provides a service for Video Moderation as well which basically works in a very similar way to the Image Moderation service.


Of course, such specific and dedicated services could not be provided freely. Each service has to be paid separately, and there are several plans on each service so that you can choose the ones that are the best fit for your site and your wallet. For example, PFS plans range from $50 to $500 per year.

Is There Any Need Of Deep Learning?

Let’s begin, today our agenda is that we will discuss “Is there really any need for deep learning?”. 

In recent years we have probably been hearing a lot of hype about deep learning but what is it really all about & here is another curious question that comes to our mind that “Why has deep learning only now just come into the spotlight?”. Let’s first understand what actually Artificial Intelligence is.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is an umbrella term for a branch of Computer Science. Its aim is for the machine to mimic human cognition, focusing on complex problem-solving. The only goal of AI is that the Machine will able to have human-like intelligence in the future. It refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed so that the machine will be capable of thinking like humans and mimic their actions.

Machine Learning is a subset of AI which basically focus on how to make a computer capable to learn on their own without the need of hand-coded instruction. Machine Learning systems analyze a vast amount of data and learn from previous mistakes. The results are generated from the algorithms that complete their task efficiently.

Deep Learning is a subset within Machine Learning, these technology attempts to mimic the activity of neurons in the human brain using matrix multiplication. This arrangement is called a Neural Network. Actually, the concept of Neural Nets comes into the picture in 1957 and was first tried in 1980 but it wasn’t proven useful. Deep Network is only become feasible because of only two reasons, 1st an increase in computing power and 2nd is a vast amount of data. After reading until this point, you will definitely doubt that whenever we are talking about Deep Learning every time “vast amount of data” this term comes with Deep Learning. Actually why Neural Nets need so much amount of data.

The answer to the above question is, actually more the data, the more robust your network will be. Due to robustness, your network will give more better and accurate results than any other algorithms. Let’s put ourselves in the shoes of Deep Learning😁. Suppose you have seen 3 pictures of the cat, taken from different angles. But on other hand, you have seen thousands of different cats, now you have a much easier time recognizing one. This is important for the data. In Deep Learning, data is the essence that allows the machine to learn.

Birth of Neural Network

The true field of Deep Learning began in 2012 bey before 2012, mos of the experts believed that Neural Network was useless. In 2012, Deep Learning explodes into the spotlight. In 2012, first-time Neural Network was used in the competition to recognize the world’s biggest image dataset and it actually blew all previous types of algorithms. At this movement, the world realizes the actual power of Neural Nets. This was the birth of the Neural Network.

My Opinion on “Is there any need for Deep Learning🤔?”

Before my opinion let’s look at a graph which is researched by google.

According to google searching after 2013 people mostly doing a lot of research on Deep Learning. The above graph is showing the interest of peoples in the field of Deep Learning. The graph has been increasing a lot after 2013 so what has led to this hike on-trend that we will understand in this article.

According to some experts, there are many reasons behind this trend or the exponential growth of interest of peoples in the field of Deep Learning. Let’s see them one by one.

1. First thing is that after 2013 most of the peoples being aware of the smartphones and start using smartphones. People start using various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp which actually generates a huge amount of data. By using this lot of data we can definitely do a lot of things, solve different kinds of use cases. Ex. recommendation system, and a lot of things.

Data is the main specific reason that Deep Learning comes into the picture. According to one survey each day approx. 2.5 quintillion bytes of data generated. Let’s look at one beautiful graph shared by Sir Andrew Ng.

Here above, we can see this specific graph where on the x-axis we have the amount of data and on the y-axis, we have the performance of the algorithm. As we see that as we increase the amount of data with respect to older learning algorithms(any kind of machine learning algorithms), the performance after a specific point of time, started degrading down and remains almost constant it did not increase. But in the case of Deep Learning, as we increase the amount of data, performance is also increasing. It means that this exponential growth of data led us to create some amazing deep learning models in terms of accuracy and various performance metrics.

2. Technology is another reason that encourages us to research Deep Learning because along with a huge amount of data, Deep Learning also required good quality hardware. Here I am talking about GPU(Graphics Processing Unit) and TPU’s(Tensor processing unit). Due to technology up-gradation, now we are easily getting good hardware at a very less price. As the technology is increasing day by day due to which the hardware cost is drastically decreasing day by day.

3. Actually Deep Learning is combining Feature Extraction and model training part. These two techniques we perform separately in the case of Machine Learning but here both the techniques are included within the deep learning techniques. Here feature extraction and model building which we do it separately in the case of Machine Learning is entirely combined in Deep Learning projects. Due to this Deep Learning can really solve complex problems such as image classification, object detection, or NLP task. Deep Learning actually uses the deep neural network, as the neural network becomes deep more and more complex information and features get extracted within a problem statement.

Let’s Wrap Up😅!

I think that Deep Learning Models should also give a specific conclusion on its output, suppose whenever someone asks us that “is it a cat?”, the way we use to explain to him that why it is a cat, I think the Deep Learning Model should also come up with the same strategy that whenever it will give some output it will also give us a proper conclusion. I don’t think it is possible or not, I am only sharing my views😅.

Website optimization is an essential and regular routine of any webmaster to run a website. Google officially included page speed as one of the search-ranking factor for mobiles. Soon that will be the case for desktop search results too. When you are running a website for certain time, you will start realizing that site speed has many other dimensions. Even having a dedicated server will not help in improving the speed when your usage is different. In this article, let us explain 10 thing that kill your WordPress site speed.

Remember it is not necessary to have 100/100 score in Google PageSpeed Insights or Pingdom or GTmetrix. It completely depends on the purpose of your site and the tradeoff you like to have for speed.

1. Advertisements Like Google AdSense

Well, this looks very attractive and can make you rich if you work hard. However, the biggest problem is that AdSense or any other PPC ad for that matter needs you to insert JavaScript code on each of your webpage. Though these scripts will load asynchronously it can create many other problems and heavily affect your page loading speed.

2. Gravatar Images 3. Content Recommendations with Images 4. Images

An image can say thousand words, but use them only when needed. Each image will send a separate HTTP request to server when someone opens your page. When there are lot of bigger images on your page, it will increase the server load and page loading time.

Use image compression plugins like WP Smush or compress the images outside WordPress and then upload.

Crop the images to required and smaller size.

Avoid resizing images using CSS inside a page.

Use font icons instead of images.

Host images on subdomain and serve them without any cookies.

Set cache header for images for browsers to cache them for long period of time.

Prevent image hotlinking so that someone cannot embed your images on their site and consume your server resource.

5. Thumbnails

Well, thumbnails are essentially images but not uploaded by you. WordPress, theme or plugin, generate them. You cannot see thumbnails from media library but they are available on your server and shown on the pages wherever required.

In general, any commercial WordPress theme will generate 5 to 15 thumbnails for each image you upload on your site. Therefore, whenever you delete slider or image related plugins and change theme ensure to cleanup all those unused thumbnails to have storage and improve speed.

6. Hosting Company and Plan

Theoretically, this should be the first point in the list. Nevertheless, it depends on your need. For example, when you start a site with few pages, definitely shared hosting, as Bluehost is sufficient. When your site grows in size you can gradually move on to VPS or dedicated servers. Otherwise, it may not be possible for all of us to spend $500 for dedicated servers each month to run few pages of blog.

So do not hesitate to change the host or upgrade your plan when your site grows in size. The bottom line is that the server response time should be less than 200 milliseconds to increase page speed score. Again, this is a guideline, not a rule for you to strict to it. Because it depends on many other factor explained in this article.

7. Too Many Plugins and Heavy Plugins

Meta boxes shown in post editor will add entries in wp_postmeta table for each blog post or page.

Slider plugins will add many thumbnails and occupy storage space.

Caching plugins will create huge number of directories which may violate the guidelines of your hosting company.

All the plugins will add corresponding entries in wp_options table thus slowing down the admin panel and affect page loading time on live site.

Online store plugins will add many script files reducing the page speed score.

In simple words – each plugin on your site will affect the page loading time. Heavy weight plugins like WooCommerce, sliders and security plugins not only occupy server space but also affect the speed. So stop playing around with plugins on your live site. Even you delete the plugins there will be lot of residual table entries in database and settings files. Cleaning up these leftover files is a tedious task which you should do periodically to avoid they increase the loading time.

8. Improperly Coded Themes

It is difficult to realize the quality of coding without using and knowing the backend functions. For normal users – all that glitters are not gold – is the most suitable proverb you can remember when looking at those beautiful themes. Completely avoid the themes with bundled plugins, offering lot of shortcodes and having too many features. In long run, you cannot use many features on the theme that you think are useful.

9. Multiple Installations

Most of the hosting plans allow having multiple installations of WordPress on a single shared server account. Having same set of plugins on multiple sites will kill the server speed. For example, having WooCommerce plugin on three to five different sites on the same server will kill the entire server speed.

10. PHP Scripts

It is very easy to buy scripts from Codecanyon for few dollars. Though the script may have good quality, running on subdirectories / subdomains / directly on your WordPress installation will kill the speed. Hosting companies will have limitation on PHP run time and exceeding the limit will show 500 server configuration error or host will take your site down to protect other sites running on the same server.

So, avoid wandering around on marketplaces for buying low priced scripts. That will only cost you more in terms of site speed than the money you expect to earn.


Once you decided to become a webmaster, it is important to control your buying behavior. This will save lot of money and help to focus on your site performance and content. Also, do not get diverted with lot of plugins, different themes, beautiful images and cheap hosting. They will never help in getting good rank in search engines except some plugins that WordPress does not have a function.

Google Replaces Title Tags With Site Names For Homepage Results

Google appears to have stopped showing title tags for mobile search results for the entire website such as in searches for the name of a website which generally show the home page.

This feature does not work for subdomains.

According to Google’s Search Central documentation for site names:

What’s being shown in mobile searches is just the generic name for a website.

For example, a mobile search for Search Engine Journal shows a search engine results page (SERP) with the generic name of the website, Search Engine Journal.

The title tag for the above home page is:

Non-branded searches for keywords appear to still show the title tags.

Brand name + keyword searches also appear to still show the title tags.

Why Is Google Using Site Names?

Google is using site names in order to make it easier for users to identify the specific website in the search results.

Google’s official announcement explained:

“Today, Search is introducing site names on mobile search results to make it easier to identify the website that’s associated with each result…”

This new feature is available in the English, French, Japanese, and German languages and will begin showing up in other languages over the next few months.

New Feature Doesn’t Always Work

But a search using the compound word domain name HubSpot shows the old version search result with the title tags.

But a search for Hub Spot (with a space between the two words) does work and shows the site name.

A search for compound word name “Wordfence” and “word fence” returns the same site name search.

So it appears that Google isn’t consistently returning site name results for HubSpot but is doing it correctly for many other sites.

Structured Data for New Site Names Feature

Google is recommending the use of the WebSite structured data type.

Previously the WebSite structured data site was considered pointless because obviously Google knows a website is a website and it didn’t need structured data to understand that Google was indexing a website.

But that’s changed because Google is now using the WebSite structured data type, specifically the “name” property, to understand what the site name of a website is.

Google published an example of the WebSite structured data with the “name” property in use:

The above structured data must be shown on the home page.

Google’s Search Central page for site name recommends the following for placement of the WebSite structured data:

“The WebSite structured data must be on the homepage of the site.

By homepage, we mean the domain-level root URI.

What if a Site Has an Alternate Name?

What’s useful about the WebSite structured data is that it offers the opportunity to tell Google what the alternate name of the website is.

Google explains how to do it:

“If you want to provide an alternate version of your site name (for example, an acronym or shorter name), you can do this by adding the alternateName property.

This is optional.”

The structured data for adding an optional name looks like this:

Google Uses More Than Structured Data

The Google documentation on site names explains that Google is using on-page, off-page and meta data information in addition to structured data to determine what a webpage site name is.

Something to take note of is that og:site_name property is an optional but recommended Open Graph property.

It makes sense to have less clutter in the SERPs for home page brand name searches. although I can see some complaining about the absence of title tag influence in these kinds of searches.

How To Install A WordPress Test Site On Your Computer

One of the best ways to test a new website you’re developing is by installing a WordPress test site on your computer. Test it locally, make sure everything looks and works good, and then upload it to the live site all at once.

When it comes to WordPress, there are several things to consider when running locally. You’ll need a working WordPress installation, an available SQL database, and a local web server for everything to run on.

You can set up all three on your local computer without too much effort, using the process outlined below.

Install a Local Web Server

The first thing you’ll need to run a local WordPress test site is a web server running on your local computer. Running a web server involves ensuring the right ports are running, PHP and Perl programming languages libraries are installed, and that the web server software can properly serve pages to your browser.

Similar to setting up an FTP server or a local Minecraft server, there are Windows applications available to run a local web server as well. One of the most popular of those is XAMPP.

To get started, just download and install the XAMPP software to your desktop or laptop PC.

1. Run the installer, make sure all components are enabled, and select Next to continue.

2. Choose a location for your web server. The best option is to choose the default folder at the root of the C: drive where permissions will be set properly. Select Next to continue.

3. Select your languages and select Next. Keep Bitnami enabled, which will help you with installing WordPress after installation. Select Next. Finally, select Next one more time to install XAMPP.

Installation will take about five minutes. Once finished, the XAMPP control panel will open. Close it for now.

Install WordPress on Your XAMPP Web Server

Once it launches, select Start to the right of Apache and MySQL to launch the web server and the SQL database needed for your WordPress test site to work properly. 

You can see the web server’s file structure by looking at the location where you’ve installed XAMPP. In this example, XAMPP is installed in C:XAMPP. This is where all of your web files will go that’ll be viewable from your web browser.

XAMPP comes with Bitnami, which lets you quickly install WordPress on top of your current XAMPP web server. 

1. Open a web browser and type localhost in the URL field. Press Enter. When the XAMPP dashboard comes up, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you’ll see the Bitnami section.

2. Select the WordPress icon at the bottom of the page. On the Bitnami site, scroll down to the WordPress section and select the Windows link to download WordPress.

4. On the next step, configure the Admin login, name, email address, and password that you want to use with your WordPress test site.

5. Select Next when you’re done, type a name for the WordPress test site and select Next. On the next page, you can configure email support so your test site can send notifications to your email. This is optional.

6. You can deselect Launch wordpress in the cloud with Bitnami since this will just be a local WordPress test site on your computer. Select Next to continue. Select Next again to initiate the installation. Once the installation is done, select Finish to launch the Bitnami WordPress module.

This will launch your default web browser with your new local WordPress test site loaded. The link will include your localhost IP address (your computer’s IP address), with /wordpress/ at the end, where your site is stored.

Now you’re ready to configure your WordPress test site and start using it.

Using Your WordPress Test Site

There are a few things you can do with this new local WordPress test site. 

Import a Copy of Your Live Site

You could export your actual online website and load it into this installation for testing.

To do this, you’ll need to backup your WordPress site and WordPress database. This will provide you with a zipped folder with all of the WordPress files, as well as a *.gz file which is the backup of your mySQL database.

You can copy the backed up WordPress files directly into your local WordPress folders. You can also import your mySQL *.gz database file into your local mySQL database using phpMyAdmin.

2. Select the Import tab, and select the Choose File button under File to import.

3. Browse to your backed up *.gz database file and phpMyAdmin will import all posts and WordPress settings into your test WordPress site.

Once you’re done and you reopen the local WordPress installation using the same link as above, you’ll see your original online site now running on your local computer.
