Ridecell focused on building the on-demand transportation platform that will scale from driven to driverless to help companies achieve a successful shared mobility platform. Big data analytics in carsharing involves making the operations run much smoother and more affordably. With big data, we know precisely where demand for vehicles will be and can reposition the fleet to best meet that demand. We also can use it for prognostics and predictive maintenance for the vehicles preventing unwanted vehicle downtime. Big data analytics for transportation will be used at a macro level to optimize public transit and, multi-modal travel, and carpooling to help increase the density of people in vehicles. If we continue to put only one person in one car, we will end up with traffic Armageddon. Big data will allow us to efficiently combine people in vehicles who share similar destinations. Increasing the density of people in vehicles, and overall reducing the carbon footprint of travel.   7. What is your biggest USP that differentiates the company from competitors? There are many carsharing platform companies. There are no carsharing companies that also power ridesharing and autonomous ridehailing solutions. Snapchat Launches New Game Platform, Stories In Third

At the first Snap Partner Summit today in Los Angeles, Snapchat unveiled four major announcements for the platform. It has launched its new Snap Games platform, introduced new AR camera features, announced new original content, and unveiled third-party app integrations via App Stories, Bitmoji Kit, Creative Kit, and Ad Kit. Notably, the App Stories tool will bring the platform’s popular Stories to third-party apps like Tinder and more for the first time.

After the Snap Partner Summit, Snapchat detailed all the announcements in a press release.

“Landmarkers” will be a new way for users to have fun with Lenses at popular landmarks around the world in augmented reality. Landmarkers were made by Snapchat users and offer the ability to have fun with 5 landmarks.

Today’s Lens Studio update now includes even more templates for augmented reality creators — including Landmarkers, which empower creators to build Lenses that can transform the world’s most iconic landmarks in real-time. There are also new templates for hand-tracking, body-tracking, and more, which you can use to create Lenses that could appear when Snapchatters use Scan!

Another update to Snapchat’s camera features is the “Scan” platform gaining two new partners to allow users to find GIFs based on real world objects powered by Giphy. Users will soon be able to also get help with math homework via a new Photomath integration.

8 Key Seo Issues When Choosing A New Blog Platform

I have a confession.  I use the Typepad text editor and I have even recommended it to others…

This means against the Top 100 blogs shown in the graphic, I sit with Geekdad, The Pioneer Woman and Seth Godin who all favour this easy to use WYSIWYG platform.   But Typepad is not the mainstream choice, used by just 16 of the Top 100 bloggers.  So what are the choices and what are the SEO fundamentals to check for?

At the heart of any blog is great content, I guess it goes without saying doesn’t it?

It also goes without saying that SEO is just as important for blogs as it is for websites.  When you are considering SEO for blogs, there are many established techniques you can use so that search engines can discover your content, however your choice of blogging platform will have a bearing on how much you can achieve.

Site Architecture

It’s down to you to make the navigation for your blog intuitive and simple; the same rules apply for web design as they do for blog design. Make it easy for your readers (and spiders) to access the various parts of your blog without difficulty. Test your blog design and structure with real users and if budgets are small consider low cost usability testing methods or testing with colleagues or dare I say it, friends.

What your blog platform will need to support;

2 Pagination Controls – Pagination, the practice of segmenting links to content on multiple pages, affects two critical elements of search engine accessibility; crawl depth and duplicate content. Controlling it through careful use of nofollows and meta noindex tags will make your important content get more link juice and crawl attention.

3 301-Redirect Functionality – From time-to-time as your content base grows you will have a need to redirect traffic either at an article level or site level. The 301 Redirect is mainstream way to achieve this but not all blog platforms offer this particularly the hosted options where you have less control over the site architecture.

6 Image-Handling & Alt Tags “€“ When it comes to images, many website owners don”€™t realise that search engine spiders cannot actually SEE the pictures on your site.  Check that your blogging software offers you the ability to customise the file name, alternative text, caption and short and long descriptions to aid getting your image into the SERP listing.

Linkage and Syndication

Finally, you need to create links to your important pages internally, and use appropriate anchor text to direct your readers (and search engines) to content that you feel is important. Link and syndicate externally to diversify your content and link to other recommended sources for information.

I like the quote by Brian Clark ‘What people say about you is more important than what you say about yourself’.  He also points out in a recent SEO copywriting post that what happens off your site matters more than what is on it.

7 XML Sitemap – submitting a sitemap to the major search engines should be one of the first actions in your SEO campaigns.  In an excellent post from SEOMoz you can see that Sitemaps do affect crawlers and how crawl time can be dramatically improved through dynamic sitemap generation.  Adding an XML sitemap is usually easy with numerous plug-ins available for blog platforms.

8 Social Media Syndication – Why should I share my content? Well, syndicating your content to other sites has many benefits including reaching out to other related web sites which potentially helps build a following.   Allowing your users to spread your content is invaluable and by offering choice you increase the chance that your content will extend beyond the confines of your own blog. Check that there is there flexible RSS support at the topic level, some providers only have a single XML feed option?  Look at what native support exists for the reader to share your content via the main social sites such as Delicious, StumbleUpon and Digg amongst others?

Manage Mobility With Windows To Go

Most businesses are still making the transition to Windows 7, and many are happy to stick with Windows XP. However, businesses are also struggling to cope with a more mobile workforce and looking for ways to enable employees to use their own devices without compromising security.

The solution may lie in jumping to Windows 8 Enterprise. Windows To Go, a feature of Windows 8 Enterprise, places a complete, fully manageable Windows 8 image on a bootable USB thumb drive, easily turning any compatible PC into a secure, managed, business computer.

The “bring your own device” (BYOD) trend is most often associated with smartphones and tablets, but many businesses also allow—even require—employees to supply their own laptop. The arrangement offers benefits for both the company and the employee, but it brings with it software and security concerns.

Windows To Go is well suited for a BYOD environment because it lets the employee use any Windows 7 or Windows 8 PC and simply boot into the Windows To Go image from the USB drive. Setting up Windows To Go

To begin, open up the Windows To Go Creator Wizard. Select the drive you plan to use, and choose a suitable Windows 8 image. The drive will be formatted as a function of the Windows To Go setup process, so make sure you’ve backed up any data you don’t want to lose.

As a part of the Windows To Go setup, you can also encrypt the thumb drive using BitLocker. Remember, this is a thumb-sized device with a complete, managed PC environment and access to your company data, so this step is strongly recommended. If you choose to do so, you will need to create a BitLocker password, which will be required every time you boot the device.

It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete the process once you initiate it. The Windows To Go Wizard will format and repartition the USB thumb drive, then transfer the Windows 8 image. The final step is to choose whether to configure the host PC to automatically boot from USB when it’s restarted.

Windows To Go is an ideal solution for managing BYOD because it offers the best of both worlds. The employer retains control over the tools and data used for business purposes, and the employee maintains a sense of privacy and freedom by not having business tools or software installed on their personal PC.
