The Windows Insiders on the Dev channel have received the Windows 11 preview build 22489.
The build comes with improvements, fixes and known issues among others.
There is also a new settings page introduced.
Windows 11 Insiders on the Dev channel have something to smile about as Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 preview build 22489.
Among the improvements, fixes and some changes, Microsoft introduces a new settings page that will display all the information a user will most likely need.

The Apps & Features section has also been split into two new pages as Installed Apps and Advanced settings respectively.
What’s are the changes in Windows 11 Build 22489
There is a new added support Discovery of Designated Resolvers. Users will now be able to discover encrypted DNS configuration from a DNS resolver that is known only by its IP address.

Xbox Game Pass games had an install issue with error 0x00000001 but has now been fixed.
Get-winevent in PowerShell was failing with an InvalidOperationException (Issue #60740) but has now been fixed.

Microsoft begins testing update KB5008353 for Windows 11 (build 22000.469).
Build 22000.469 is a non-security update with new features and changes.
The update introduces news “Your Microsoft Account” settings, Bing help suggestions for Settings, and more.
As part of the “C” release, Microsoft is making available non-security update KB5008353 for devices running Windows 11. This optional update delivers a slew of fixes, improvements, and new features that the company plans to roll out to everyone during the February 2023 Patch Tuesday update.
Update “KB5008353” brings the version number to “build 22000.469,” and according to the official notes, the update adds a new “Your Microsoft Account” page in the Accounts settings category to view your Microsoft account information. In addition, the page offers details about your Microsoft 365 subscription, order history, payment details, and Microsoft Rewards.
The notes also point out fixes for audio and outdated battery percentage on Bluetooth devices, some problems with the Taskbar, improves auto-brightness control in low light conditions, and more.

Microsoft is now rolling out build 25188 for Windows 11 devices enrolled in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This minor update introduces a lot of fixes, improvements, and small updates for existing features.
Windows 11 build 25188, according to the company’s announcement, delivers new touch keyboard settings, makes the Windows Terminal the default command-line experience, updates the Microsoft Store, and pushes a long list of fixes.
Windows 11 build 25188As part of the new visual improvements, Windows 11 build 25188 introduces a new “Show the touch keyboard when there’s no keyboard attached” touch keyboard setting inside the “Typing” settings page.
The new settings include three options to control whether tapping an edit control should launch the touch keyboard:
“Never” suppresses the touch keyboard even when no hardware keyboard is attached.
“When no keyboard attached” will show the touch keyboard only when the device is used as a tablet without the hardware keyboard.
“Always” will show the touch keyboard even when the hardware keyboard is attached.
In addition, this flight includes various fixes for File Explorer, Taskbar, and Settings.

Updated emoji keywords based on feedback, including fixing that searching for apple didn’t return the red apple emoji in Korean or Polish (in the respective languages), searching for trash or garbage in English should now return the wastebasket emoji, searching for roger in English should now return the saluting face emoji, and searching for bug will now return the ladybug emoji.
Settings
Fixed an issue where removing a printer from Settings wouldn’t work in certain cases.
Task Manager
Updated the positioning of the View button tooltip position so it shouldn’t block the close button in the title bar anymore.
The arrow shown when sorting processes by CPU should no longer be black on black in certain cases when using dark mode.
Updated the selection highlight color when you select rows on the Details or Services page to be less bright and more aligned with the other colors used with the updated Task Manager design.
Other fixes
Fixed an issue leading to missing/broken characters on the Bitlocker screen when using the Japanese display language.
Fixed an issue where the Advanced Settings of an application pool on a remote IIS server would display a blank screen.
Fixed an issue where Steps Recorder wouldn’t close when you pressed ALT + F4.

Settings App Not Working In Windows? Here Are The Fixes
While many people will balk and wish that Microsoft wasn’t slowly burying the trusted Control Panel, the Settings app has grown into a key feature of Windows. It’s the launchpad into controlling your system – from adding devices to controlling users and gaming features. If Settings stops working, Windows becomes pretty dysfunctional.
So if your Settings app is stalling or just not opening in the first place, here’s a bunch of fixes that should get it back in working order.
Re-enable Settings App in Registry EditorWho knows why, but your Settings app may be disabled – perhaps in the wake of a Windows update, or a bug, or perhaps because at some point you tinkered around in the registry and did the wrong thing.
In the Start menu, type regedit and open Registry Editor. Here, navigate to:
Update Windows (or Roll Back an Update)Conversely, if you’ve noticed that your Settings app has stopped working since a Windows update, then you may want to roll back a Windows update.
Reboot your PC. If the problem is fixed, then great! If not, you can just reinstall that update again like you’d install any Windows update.
A Simple SolutionSometimes, the best solutions are those that seem too simple to be true. But in tech, that’s often the case. Here’s a simple solution:
Settings reset, job done (hopefully).
Alternative Ways to Open SettingsIf you’re just looking for a quick workaround to a misbehaving Settings app, then your best bet could be to try and open it another way.
One method is to press Win + I to try and open the Settings app.
Alternatively, you can use the taskbar icons, with the method varying a little depending on your Windows version.
If these methods don’t work, or if your Settings app still can’t be accessed the normal way via your Start menu, then it’s time to try something a little more involved…
Reinstall and Re-Register Windows AppsThe Settings app in Windows is counted among the official built-in Windows apps, so reinstalling it (along with every other Windows app) should fix whatever problems you may have with it.
Run an SFC ScanBefore trying the more elaborate method of fixing the Settings app, here are a couple of quick fixes that might do the job:
Scan your hard drive for errors – go to the Start menu, type cmd, open the command prompt, then type sfc /scannow
That failing, you should try downloading the Windows Update Troubleshooter and see if that helps.
Create a New Windows UserIf you still can’t open the Settings app, then it’s time for the more radical solution of creating a new administrator account and transferring your files over to it. Seeing as you can’t use the Settings app to create a new account, you can instead use the Microsoft Common Console Document if you have Windows 10 or Windows 11 Pro.
If you have Windows Home Edition, then you’ll need to create a new user through the command prompt instead.
In the Command Prompt type the following command but with the username and password that you want to create for the new administrator account:
net user newusername newpassword/
addYou should see the message “The command completed successfully” to inform you that the account has been created.
The new user is now the administrator.
Sign out of your current account and into the new user account. Try accessing the Settings app, and it should now be working.
The next step is to transfer your files from your old Windows account to your new one.
Uninstall Clashing AppsBelieve it or not, there are some apps that are known to prevent the Windows Settings app from working. One such app is the Lenovo Onekey Theater app. This app is meant to simplify the audiovisual experience on Lenovo devices.
However, it seems that it has caused issues for some users and caused their Settings app to just not work. Unfortunately, there might be some other apps out there like this, so you should consider researching to see if any of your recently installed apps caused an issue.
The Settings app is quite important in Windows and when it is not working, it can affect your work and productivity. Use the above methods to fix the issue. If, however, you find that nothing works, then you may want to consider resetting Windows or performing a clean install. your issue lies with Windows not starting, here’s the fix.

Here’s another Windows 11 build delivered to the Dev Channel.
All Dev Insiders are invited to take a look and test KB5017600.
Keep in mind that this update is meant to test servicing pipelines.
Lately, we’ve been talking a lot about new operating system builds for Windows 11, and rightfully so, since there is so much going on.
Some of the latest updates even managed to break OS features and a lot of users have reported their devices booting directly into BitLocker recovery.
Even Windows 10 users are having audio issues after installing one the more recent cumulative updates from Microsoft.
Now, Microsoft has released an update for Windows 11 Build 25182, which was released to Windows Insiders last Wednesday.
What’s new in KB5017600 for Windows 11?Well, the truth is that this update brings nothing new, as the Redmond-based tech giant designed it to test its servicing pipeline.
These types of updates are sometimes released by Microsoft, much to the disappointment of Insiders everywhere, so we just have to live with it.
That being said, there still are a lot of new things to check out with this build, or rather its previous form, so we’re going to go into that.
Expert tip:
The Camera app can now understand the state of the privacy shutter on supported hardware, such as the Microsoft Modern Webcam or the integrated camera on many new Windows 11 laptops.
That being said, if the shutter is blocking the view or if the laptop lid is closed, the Camera app will inform you and offer guidance.
Microsoft also stated that it has actually improved the Camera app experience on Arm64 devices, which means you will see faster and better performance when you use the app.
The tech giant also began to roll out a Microsoft Store update (version 22207.1401.x) with the following improvements:

Install games directly from the Microsoft Store app: When you find a game you like, you can install it right from the Microsoft Store, without switching apps.

Fixed an issue leading to some Insiders experiencing a decrease in FPS when playing certain games in recent flights due to the wrong graphics card being used.

Fixed an issue which could lead to the taskbar overflow flyout unexpectedly appearing on the opposite side of the screen. This was incorrectly noted as fixed in Build 25179.
Fixed an issue that was causing the animation on the taskbar that plays when a user switches from using a device in tablet posture to desktop while in overflow to incorrectly show when logging in.
Fixed an chúng tôi crash which could happen when determining if the taskbar overflow should display. This could happen when switching out of a full screen game.

Fixed a Start menu crash that could prevent apps from launching from Start.
[File Explorer]
Fixed an issue causing the left-half of the File Explorer title bar to not be draggable via mouse or touch for some Insiders.
Fixed an issue causing Home, Documents, Pictures, and potentially other folders to become unexpectedly duplicated in File Explorer’s navigation pane or appear on the desktop.
Selecting multiple folders and then using the context menu option to open them in a new tab will now actually do that, rather than opening the first folder in a new tab and all the others in a new window.
Updated the logic for Narrator so that if you navigate to a OneDrive folder using the navigation pane in File Explorer, Narrator will now explicitly say it’s a OneDrive folder, and not just something like “YourName – Personal”.
[Other]
Fixed an issue which could cause the camera light on a laptop to get stuck on after logging into your PC.
Fixed an issue believed to be the root cause of some Insiders seeing bugchecks when opening and copying files from network locations.
Known issues [General]
Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause your PC to bugcheck.
Looking into reports that audio stopped working for some Insiders after upgrading to the last flight.
Investigating reports of a few different apps having started crashing in recent builds.
A small percentage of Insiders are experiencing repeated chúng tôi crashes after attempting to access certain folders on your system on Builds 25179+. Insiders who have the Xbox Dev Kit installed will hit this. We’re working on a fix for this in a future flight.

The up arrow is misaligned in File Explorer tabs. This will be fixed in a future update.
Working on the fix for an issue where the search box background in File Explorer might be the opposite color of your current mode.
Working on the fix for an issue causing the delete key to unexpectedly not work on files in File Explorer. If you encounter this, you should still be able to use the context menu to delete.
Working on the fix for an issue where the taskbar isn’t able to display if File Explorer is maximized and you have the taskbar set to auto-hide.

In some cases, the notification banner for some badging will not appear in the widgets board.
